Good news from FIFA: not only have two million tickets been sold to date, a recent poll reveals that South Africans are ‘overwhelmingly positive' about hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup. 
Vision Africa, a full-service marketing and stakeholder research company that operates within Namibia, Angola, Botswana and Zambia as well as other African countries, has appointed Liz Curtis as Accounts Director. 
On 29 April 2009 Vision Africa began with the fieldwork for MediaMetrics, a product developed to provide large and medium organisations with affordable, reliable and accurate information about their target audiences' viewing, listening and reading habits and preferences. 
Vision Africa, the leading research company in Namibia, recently donated N$6000.00 towards the community of Okatjali to assist them in building a kindergarten in their remote village of Onamayongo. 
“We are proudly Namibian," says new MD of Vision Africa, Cornelius D'Alton. "There has been a change of ownership at Vision Africa and we are now 100% Namibian-owned.” Not only is the company completely local, but the new majority shareholder is a Black Economic Empowerment company. 
The European Union has announced that it will be offering a grant of over EUR600,000 to a joint partnership between the School of Social Sciences at the University of Southampton and the Regional Institute for Population Studies at the University of Ghana.
