The 2010 Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards have added sector-specific categories to reflect the important role that various industries play in economic development. Entries are free and can be on any platform - online, print, broadcast. The closing date for entries is 26 March 2010, with the awards ceremony being held on 1 July 2010 in Central London. 
The Dubai International Advertising Festival has announced the members of the four juries for the awards. The international group of 21 creatives and media experts from 10 different countries, including South Africa, will meet in Dubai to judge, discuss and award the best creative work and ideas of the Middle East and Africa regions. 
The World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) has published a guide for parents to help and protect their children when they use the internet. The guide will be made available without charge to newspapers worldwide to offer to their readers. 
LONDON: Diageo, yesterday, Tuesday, 26 January 2010, launched its annual Africa Business Reporting Awards. The number of categories has been extended with sector-specific categories. The awards ceremony will be held on 1 July in Central London and the closing date for entry is 26 March. 
Roman Gallo, founder of hyper-local newspaper, Nase Adresa in the Czech Republic, will speak at the 2010 World Newspaper Advertising Conference and Expo, to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 4 and 5 March. 
SAN FRANCISCO: Google said it will let people store pictures, videos, and other kinds of digital files online at Google Docs, adding virtual hard drives to services offered "in the cloud." 
Isha Sesay, who hosts Inside Africa, CNN International's weekly look at political, economic, social and cultural affairs and trends in Africa, will co-host the CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Awards, to be held in Kampala Uganda on 29 May 2010.
