African filmmakers are invited to submit documentaries relating to the theme of the 2010 Africa in Motion (AiM) Film Festival to be considered for inclusion in the October festival at the Filmhouse Cinema in Edinburgh, Scotland. The theme of the fifth festival is “Celebrations”. 
Organisers of the inaugural Durban FilmMart are calling for the submission of projects for consideration. The African international film co-production market is hosted by the Durban Film Office (DFO) and Durban International Film Festival (DIFF). The Durban FilmMart will take place in July during the 31st Durban International Film Festival, 22 July - 1 August 2010. 
Standard Bank and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) are seeking an iconic image that captures the passion, excitement and euphoria of the 2010 Orange Africa Cup of Nations. They are hosting a competition for professional photographers accredited to cover the event in Angola. 
A silent experimental documentary from South Africa recently won the second annual Africa in Motion (AiM) short film competition. Paul Emmanuel's 3SAI: A Rite of Passage was screened as part of the Africa in Motion Film Festival at the UK African Film Festival, which takes place at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. 
According to Deloitte, recent tracking of radio advertising broadcast on South African stations showed alarming results; an average of 9% of all radio ads booked are not broadcast as scheduled. Based on FM's AdFocus estimated figure of R3 billion on radio advertising in 2008, this error equates to R270 million erosion of ad spend per annum. 
Seven short films by young African filmmakers have been shortlisted for the 2nd annual Africa in Motion (AiM) short film competition. All shortlisted films will be screened on Monday, 25 October 2009 as part of the Africa in Motion Film Festival, which takes place from 22 October - 1 November 2009 at the Filmhouse in Edinburgh, Scotland. 
Late last week, M-Net launched the African Film Library - the largest electronic library of feature films, shorts and documentaries from 50 years of African film production. Over the past three years, M-Net has been negotiating the rights to almost 600 works in English, French, Arabic and Portuguese and digitising them.
