The Dubai International Advertising Festival has announced the members of the four juries for the awards. The international group of 21 creatives and media experts from 10 different countries, including South Africa, will meet in Dubai to judge, discuss and award the best creative work and ideas of the Middle East and Africa regions. 
South African National Parks (SANParks) and the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) have launched a continent-wide competition to mark Africa's real southernmost tip, at L'Agulhas, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans converge. The ‘Iconic Ideas' competition will run 26 January - 10 March 2010. 
ARISE, global style and culture magazine, has announced the names of top African designers who will feature at the 2010 New York Fashion Week as part of the magazine's African Collective Part III. It is part of the magazine's commitment to showcase African fashion through a series of international ARISE-branded events. 
LogoLounge 6, the global logo design competition, is now open for entry to all LogoLounge members. The competition closes on 15 February 2010. A panel of judges will choose the top 2000 newest logos. 
Absolut Vodka, in continuation of its 30 years of artistic collaboration and support, has awarded the first of its yearly art prize of €15 000 to Keren Cytter, born 1977 in Israel, who now lives in Berlin and whose work has brought a lot of critical acclaim when shown at galleries and museums around Europe. 
The call to enter the 2010 D&AD Awards and the 23 jury foremen were announced yesterday, Monday, 19 October 2009. Network# BBDO Johannesburg's Mike Schalit will lead the Radio Advertising jury.

The Penguin African Writers series, launched in 2009, showcases writing from Africa for contemporary readers in Africa and the rest of the world. In 2010 it is expanding the series and is a calling for submissions for artwork to be used on the covers of the forthcoming titles. 
Wolda, the Worldwide Logo Design Annual, has announced its panel of judges that will select the winning entries for its ‘09 edition. Wolda '09 is also now accepting entries of logos designed both in 2008 and 2009.
